In acknowledgement of the importance of education of young individuals to fulfilling its mission statement, the DCWA has created The Deer Creek Watershed Association Environmental Science Scholarship at Harford Community College. This scholarship offers an annual $1,000 fund to a first- or second-year student enrolled in the Environmental Science Associate of Science Degree program at Harford Community College (HCC). This award is designed to support a student who intends to focus on environmental science, continue the major in a related curriculum at a four-year institution, and pursue a career in the field. Selection criteria include at least half-time enrollment, at least 3.0 GPA, graduation from a high school in Harford or an adjacent County (Baltimore or Cecil), and documented financial need.
